Alpha Hydroxy
(AHA) Brightening Cream
Lifesource Vitamins Alpha Hydroxy (AHA) Brightening Cream: Age well with
the refining power of Alpha Hydroxy Acids! This lightweight & emollient
night and day cream is formulated for mature skin containing: Alpha Hydroxy
Acid - Hyaluronic Acid, Green Tea, Glycolic Acid, Emu Oil, Aloe, Jojoba, Sunflower,
Coconut Tea Leaf, Black Willow, Bladderwrack, & Shea Butter that works
in harmony to gently exfoliate, brighten, and soothe to reveal younger-looking skin.
Clinically Tested & Proven Ingredients:
Alpha Hydroxy Glycolic
Acid - Glycolic Acid is part of the Alpha Hydroxy family of natural ingredients.
Glycolic acid is used for acne as well as anti-aging. Derived from cane
sugar, It has the smallest molecules in the AHA group. Glycolic Acid can
penetrate the skin deeply and easily, making it the most effective for treating
fine lines, acne, blackheads, dullness & oiliness. When applied to the
skin, glycolic acid works to break the bonds between the outer layer of
skin cells, including dead skin cells, and the next skin cell layer.
Alpha Hydroxy Glycolic Acid & Acne:
For people with acne, the benefit of glycolic acid is that the peeling
effects result in less “gunk” that clogs the pores. This includes dead
skin cells and oil. With less to clog the pores, the skin clears, and you
usually have fewer breakouts.
Glycolic Acid
has been extensively studied by researchers around the world for its
various effects and benefits regarding skin health. Usually, AHA – Glycolic
Acids are gentle on the skin and do not cause any irritation. This acid
act as a chemical exfoliant. It dissolves the intercellular bonds (the bonds
between your skin cells) and facilitates the natural shedding process of
your skin, helping you get rid of the dead skin cells easily, revealing
softer, smoother, and brighter skin.
Glycolic Acid
is typically the favored AHA for especially effective exfoliation. "There's
a reason glycolic is the acid used the most in anti-aging products and
doctors' office peels, "Ranella Hirsch, MD," she told Allure Beauty, a Massachusetts-based, board-certified
dermatologist, "It does the job." That said, its deeper
penetration and higher intensity mean it's more likely to cause irritation,
so try that small test area first.
Hyaluronic Acid:
Hyaluronic Acid helps reduce the visibility of fine lines and wrinkles
retaining moisture to the skin, creating a plumping effect. When the skin
is protected and hydrated, increased skin cell production can take place,
as the skin isn't busy fighting for hydration. This leads to smoother,
plumper skin cells.
Emu Oil:
Stimulates the skin to reduce the appearance of skin wrinkles and
rejuvenates aging or sun-damaged skin. Emu oil has also been recommended
for use in the treatment of skin conditions, such as skin wounds and
seborrheic dermatitis. It may also help with alopecia, rosacea,
hypopigmentation, and shingles.
Sunflower:
Shown to be a great source of vitamin E, rich in nutrients and
antioxidants, and also is effective for combatting skincare issues like
acne, inflammation, redness, and overall irritation of the skin. Sunflower
oil has emollient properties that help the skin retain its moisture.
Jojoba:
Jojoba oil regulates your sebum production due to it being so similar to
the sebum that your body produces naturally. When used in your skincare,
Jojoba soothes and moisturizes. This sends a signal to your hair and sweat
follicles that your skin doesn't need additional sebum for hydration.
Coconut Oil:
Coconut oil is high in lauric acid, which helps kill the bacteria that
cause a problem with skin and Acne. Applying coconut oil to the skin can kill
acne-causing bacteria and increase moisture, which may also reduce
scarring.
Green Tea:
It can help improve your skin's natural moisture, fight acne, and reduce
inflammation that makes your face look puffy. The polyphenols that are
extracted from green tea are beneficial for treating acne-related skin and
unclogging pores since they're a powerful antibacterial agent for the skin
Black Willow Bark:
Derived from the bark of the willow tree: Willow Bark Extract has been used
for centuries to soothe irritated skin. Containing salicin, from which salicylic acid is derived—this versatile ingredient is both
anti-inflammatory and antibacterial, clearing pores and alleviating acne
and irritation. (Willow Bark Extract is standardized to 10% Salicylic Acid)
Panthenol:
Shown to work as a humectant, whereas in other products it might have
different roles. A humectant is an ingredient that helps skin and hair draw
in moisture and retain it long after that product is washed off.
Bladderwrack:
Bladderwrack is a type of seaweed found in skincare products that helps soothe skin irritations such as burns, insect bites,
dryness, and itchiness of the skin. It also serves as a preventive
ingredient to help minimize the appearance of any visible signs of aging.
Shea Butter: It works as an emollient that has been shown to soften and hydrate skin. Shea Butter contains several types of fatty
acids, including linoleic, oleic, palmitic, and stearic acids, all of which
improve the skin's natural barrier, as well as protect your skin from damage
from the environment like pollutants.
** Always perform a small patch test on skin to check for sensitivity to
AHA’s. Keep away from eyes. Combining Alpha Hydroxy with more hard-core
exfoliating ingredients is best avoided ((like a face scrubs), benzoyl
peroxide, and—depending on how well your skin can stand up to harsh
products - retinols)
** Best used at night. Use sunscreen along with this cream. Sunburn Alert: The product contains an alpha hydroxy acid
(AHA) that may increase your skin’s sensitivity to the sun and particularly
the possibility of sunburn. Use sunscreen, wear protective clothing, and
limit sun exposure while using this product and for a week afterward.

The 5 Main Steps of Skin Care Routines that work:
Think of your skin-care routine as consisting of 5 main steps:
- Face Wash – Cleanse without stripping.
- Toning – Balancing, primes skin for rest of skincare products.
- Serum – Mitigating Face/Skin issues
- Eye Cream – Wrinkles, Dark Spots, Puffiness
- Moisturizing - Hydrating and softening the skin.
The Most Important thing to note is that Consistency is Key! Every Board-Certified Dermatologist around the world says the same thing: Consistency, Consistency, Consistency.
Consistency, why is this so important? Our skin is so hyper-sensitive and thrives on a calm and routine-driven approach to the way we treat it. Every time we switch to the latest product, our skin has a reactionary process that must take place, and then a new routine must be set, so the skin is not in a relaxed environment. Find products you believe in, Be Consistent & Give it time!
Why Give it time? Once you have the right products, and your skincare routine is established, it is easier to maintain your skin from this point forward. We are all aging; and therefore, it is so important to have a solid skincare routine. Our skincare routine’s first goal is to slow down the aging process. Then the next step is to reverse what can be reversed i.e., Age/Dark Spots, Wrinkles, Acne, Rosacea. The results can be dramatic if you stick to your skincare routine and don’t fall for the next new product, find what you like, stick to it and watch what happens. Skin likes routine, which in turn makes your skin happy, which then makes your skin healthier: Diligent SkinRoutine = Happy Skin = Healthier Complexion, plain and simple!
