Get the restorative sleep you need, so you’re ready to take on the day the next morning!
What is restorative sleep?
Do you ever feel like you’re not getting “enough sleep”? The number of hours you spend in dreamland may not be all that matters: when you sleep, your body goes through a restorative process. If the various stages of sleep are interrupted, you may experience general fatigue as well as stress.
Clinically studied ashwagandha
Ashwagandha (Withania somnifera) has been used in India for centuries. This formula utilizes a special kind of ashwagandha that has been shown to support several aspects of healthy sleep, such as how long it takes to fall asleep, how long you remain asleep, and the ultimate goal of restorative sleep.1 Plus, we’re using the same dose of ashwagandha (120 mg) as used in clinical studies.
Standardized black cumin seed extract
A specific kind of standardized black cumin extract has been clinically studied for sleep: in a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled study, healthy volunteers took either 200 mg of a standardized form of black cumin extract or placebo for 90 days.2
70 percent of the black cumin group reported a greater satisfaction with their sleep patterns by day 7, increasing to 79 percent by day 14. The black cumin group also experienced an healthy response to stress. Lastly, there was beneficial effect on the endogenous levels of melatonin, orexin and cortisol measured in black cumin group compared to placebo.2
Why Should I Supplement with Serene Sleep?
What is in Serene Sleep?
Serene Sleep is a dual-herb formula that combines two clinically studied ingredients: Shoden® ashwagandha extract and BlaQmax® black cumin seed extract to support restorative sleep and promote a healthy response to stress. These ingredients have been clinically studied individually to help support sleep latency, duration and efficiency.
When should you take Serene Sleep—before or after a meal?
This product should be taken 20-30 minutes before bedtime, with or without food, based on your preference. Remember to always take any product as directed on the label.
Is it okay to take two softgels?
This is a once-daily formula. You should only take one softgel each day to support restorative sleep.
Will Serene Sleep make me drowsy?
Unlike some sleep formulas, Serene Sleep is not designed to make you drowsy. This product was formulated to help you encourage a calm state of mind before bedtime to help you better ease into a restful night’s sleep, rather than immediately induce sleepiness.
When can I expect an effect?
In studies of people who took BlaQmax® black cumin seed extract, improved sleep parameters were seen in as early as 7 days, with the best effects seen after 90 days. In studies where people took Shoden® ashwagandha, some effects were seen in as early as 22 days with the best effects seen after 6 weeks. Everybody is unique, however, so the time it takes to notice benefits can vary from person to person.
How is Serene Sleep different from Rest & Renew, melatonin and other sleep supplements?
Rest & Renew is a restorative sleep formula that combines Shoden® ashwagandha extract with immediate- and extended-release melatonin. Serene Sleep uses the same Shoden® ashwagandha extract as Rest & Renew, but instead of melatonin, it is combined with BlaQmax® black cumin seed extract. This makes it a great alternative for those who are sensitive to formulas containing melatonin.
What’s the difference between the Shoden® ashwagandha used in Serene Sleep and Sensoril® ashwagandha used in some of your other formulas? Can they be taken together?
Shoden® and Sensoril® are both trademarked ashwagandha extracts that are standardized differently and used for different primary purposes. Shoden® ashwagandha is intended to help support restorative sleep, while Sensoril® ashwagandha is meant to help support a healthy response to stress and overall well-being. Serene Sleep can be used in conjunction with our other ashwagandha formulas.
