There are many advantages to taking a Neptune Krill Oil supplement. Not
only do you get the health benefits of omega 3 fatty acids, but you also
get a natural source of brain-nourishing phospholipids and a potent
antioxidant - Astaxanthin. This unique combination of Neptune Krill Oil
ingredients is what separates it from other healthy oils.
Fish oils are good for you and this is not meant to change your opinion on
the health benefits of fish oils. However, the ingredients in LifeSource
Neptune Krill Oil can offer you an amazing antioxidant protection
and we all know this is one of the key steps to staying young and vibrant.
What are Krill?
Krill are shrimp-like crustaceans that are approximately 1 to 6 centimeters
long. They live in the ocean, where they feed mainly on phytoplankton.
They're near the bottom of the food chain and are eaten by whales, seals,
penguins, squid, and fish.
Commercial fishing of krill occurs primarily in the Antarctic and the
northern Pacific Oceans; along the coasts of Canada and Japan. Krill that
are caught are used for aquaculture and aquarium feeds, sport fishing bait
or they are eaten as food.
What can Astaxanthin do for you?
Another reason krill oil is becoming popular is that it contains an
antioxidant called astaxanthin. The algae that krill eat produce the bright
red pigment astaxanthin that gives krill and other crustaceans such as
lobster and shrimp their reddish-pink color.
Antioxidants protect our body cells from damage from free radicals,
unstable substances that are thought to contribute to certain chronic
diseases. Unlike many other antioxidants, astaxanthin crosses the
blood-brain barrier, where it could theoretically protect the eye, brain
and central nervous system from free radical damage.*

How Neptune Krill Oil plays a role for good health
Every cell in your body is lined with phospholipids, especially your brain
cells. Your body needs phospholipids to grow new cells and to repair
damaged ones. Lipids play a very important part in the maintenance and
growth of all cells in your body. Fish oils are the most popular source of
omega 3 fatty acids. The benefit of taking Neptune Krill Oil is that you
get the health benefits of omega 3 fatty acids and phospholipids
in one supplement, an extremely cell-nourishing combination.*
Proven health benefits for Women!
Woman's World said:
"Krill oil is so potent; women who took it for three months
reported a 51% boost in energy, alertness, memory, concentration, and stamina in a recent Canadian study. And almost 100% described
having a greater sense of well-being and happiness -- plus a 31%
reduction in aches and pains!"
These figures were derived from a quality of life study comparing the
benefits of Antarctic pure Neptune Krill Oil to Fish Oil. The quality of
life study was done in conjunction with the Phase II clinical trial
"Evaluation of the effectiveness of NKO on the clinical management of
Hyperlipidemia." In the study, 120 participants, including both men and
women, took either 1.0 or 1.5 grams of krill oil per day (based on their
BMI [body mass index]) or 3.0 grams per day of fish oil. Study participants
took a 36-question standardized survey at the end of 30 days, 90 days, and
180 days. This survey measured the patient's physical function, fatigue,
pain, social function, emotional role, mental capacity, general health and
physical appearance. The survey, in use since 1998 and published in over
4,000 different studies, was designed to provide statistically valid
results.

Commonly Asked Question:
I take a plant-based omega supplement. Do I need to take Krill Oil?
Answer:
If you are taking a Plant-based omega-3 source such as flax, hemp, and chia
seeds are high in ALA, but low in EPA and DHA. Most of your health benefits
associated with omega-3 fats are linked to animal-based omega-3 fats like
EPA and DHA, not plant-based omega-3 fats like ALA. ALA is converted into
EPA and DHA in your body, but only at a very low ratio. Even if you eat
large amounts of ALA, your body can only convert very small amounts into
EPA and DHA, and only when sufficient enzymes are present.
